Type Description
W0.5-w40 (W0.5 is ultra-fine, W40 is notably coarse), where 'W' represents the diamond particle size, equivalent to microns. The subsequent numeral indicates the diameter of the abrasive particles, like W3.5, which denotes that the particles in this paste are 3.5 microns in diameter. A smaller number implies a finer paste, while a larger number signifies a coarser texture. The corresponding mesh standard highlights that a higher mesh reflects a finer texture and a lower mesh, a coarser one.

 

Step Description
For optimal results, select a diamond plaster and apply it onto the surface of polished jade, metal, or other materials. Spread it evenly, then proceed to sand using a wool wheel, wool tip, or cotton wheel, ensuring an even and glossy finish.
Continue polishing until the desired surface brightness is achieved. Adjust the ratio of grinding paste to oil between 1 and 0.5-1 as needed, utilizing options such as oil, vegetable oil, or cooking oil for the perfect blend.
3 If manual polishing is preferred, and no machinery is available, cowhide or soft glasses cloth serves as an excellent alternative.
Soak the cloth in the tempered abrasive paste, then apply it to the workpiece's surface. Use gentle yet firm pressure, wiping thoroughly until a mirror-like finish emerges, showcasing the true brilliance of your workpiece.
